Q&A with Onboarding World Keynote Speaker Greg Palmer

Onboarding World 2024 is just a few months away! As we count down with excitement for this first-of-its-kind client onboarding conference, we had the chance to catch up with Onboarding World’s keynote speaker: Greg Palmer.

Check out what he had to say about the upcoming event, plus learn a few fun facts about this expert master of ceremonies!

First Things First: Onboarding World

What makes Onboarding World exciting for participants?

Client onboarding is a big challenge for many companies in the fintech space and beyond. Anyone who focuses on that aspect of the client experience has a lot they can learn.

Personally, I’m excited to meet some of the best practitioners in the space and hear from the people and companies experiencing onboarding challenges. Sharing those stories and insights can raise the bar and help every business improve its client onboarding.

What can attendees expect at Onboarding World?

Attendees will have the chance to hear from experts at various sessions and be exposed to new technologies that are shaping client onboarding. Onboarding World offers powerful networking opportunities as well.

While there are a number of ways attendees will get value out of the event, the big focus is on overcoming struggles in onboarding and learning how to improve for the future. With so many people in the same place who can share their expertise, everyone will have the know-how to onboard clients more effectively and serve their clients better.

What are you looking forward to most about being in Boston?

Boston is home to a lot of tech-minded people. At the same time, the city has a lot of history. The intersection between these two worlds creates an environment that fosters the right mindset for a tech conference: recognizing the past while embracing the future.

Beyond that, I’m a huge seafood fan and of course, I look forward to hearing a native Boston accent in the wild. Outside of my time at the conference, I’m excited to visit some of the local establishments and see some of the historical sides of town.

Now Onto Some More Fun Facts About Greg

Do you have any pre-stage rituals that hype you up?

One thing I always recommend to people I coach for public speaking is to do something that helps put you in the right frame of mind before stepping out on stage.

Personally, I enjoy listening to music before I head out to the stage. I think it’s important to get moving and get the blood flowing. If you come backstage before any show kickoff, you’ll find me dancing to the introduction song we play at the start of the show — and I’ll have my AirPods in with my own playlist going too.

What’s your favorite food to indulge in at the airport?

I fly out of Seattle, and anyone who’s flown through the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will know of a store called Beecher's Handmade Cheese. Every business trip where I fly begins with a Beecher’s breakfast sandwich. If you ever pass through the Seattle airport, I recommend you grab yourself one.

Thank you to Greg for connecting with us! We can’t wait to come together at Onboarding World 2024 — and of course, try a Beecher’s breakfast sandwich when the time comes!
